Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Management

We are proud to offer comprehensive psychiatry services tailored specifically for neurodivergent children, adolescents, and adults.

Medication: Part of a Comprehensive Treatment Plan

Our philosophy at The Sterling Institute for Autism is that medication can sometimes serve as an important adjunct to therapy. Psychiatric medication can be an integral part of a comprehensive treatment plan. If you choose to meet with a psychiatrist on our team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about different options so that you can make an informed choice about you or your child’s treatment. We adhere to evidence-based practice and work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including psychologists and other providers, to ensure that you receive coordinated care and a personalized treatment plan.

Psychiatric medications are often prescribed to address symptoms of conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD. If autism is also part of the diagnostic picture, addressing symptoms that are “comorbid” with autism (e.g., anxiety) can be important in the comprehensive approach to treatment. Our psychiatry services encompass the evaluation and treatment of these conditions, providing comprehensive support to address all aspects of an individual’s mental health.
